Neapolitan Layer Cake

I love making cakes, but decorating them isn’t really my strong suit. Around the time I was trying to decide what type of cake to make her I discovered the blog Sweetopolita which is filled with gorgeous cakes. When I saw this Neapolitan cake I thought it would be perfect since the pretty layers inside would offset some of the plainness outside.
In addition to being really beautiful this cake tastes great too. It’s a bit more work than your typical layer cake since you have to make three different recipes, but it’s certainly worth it if you want something special. When I tested this cake I sliced the chocolate and strawberry layers in half so I had a 5 layer cake. I really loved how it looked an intended to make it that way for the wedding, but when the day came I was a bit pressed for time and kept it as three layers.
You can find the recipe here.
(I used vanilla buttercream instead of strawberry since I wanted a white cake. The only other change I made was using freeze dried strawberries instead of frozen strawberries in the strawberry layer since it’s what I had available.)
